With over 200 units encompassing two city blocks, The King-Garvey Co-op Apartments have been providing affordable housing in the Western Addition for over 40 years. This $45 million extensive property rehabilitation transformed a community and received numerous awards, including:
- 2012 Best Rehabilitation or Renovation, SF Business Times
- 2012 Editors' Choice Award, Multi-Family Executive Magazine "for creative land use and financing, fine architecture, and sustainable construction."
In addition to installing a new drought-tolerant landscape, Rubicon Landscape converted the old overhead irrigation system to a drip system, reusing existing components as appropriate.
